What began as a desire to create a space for silent winter sports has now blossomed into a network of beautifully-maintained trails that offers outdoor enthusiasts a place to explore and have fun!

History
The idea for Minocqua Winter Park began in the 1950's by a group of friends with a similar vision to create a designated area for the "silent sports" enjoyed during the, oftentimes, extra long winters in Minocqua. Unfortunately, the cost to operate Squirrel Hill, the park's featured ski hill, led to the closing of the park around the 1970's.
Thankfully, the children of the original founders grasped and expanded the idea years later and developed the park into what it is now: a sprawling landscape full of winter recreational hot spots for snow tubers, skiers, cross-country skiers, snowshoe hikers, fat tire bikers, ice skaters and more!
From their website: "Enjoy over 50 miles of impeccably groomed trails winding through 6500 acres of wilderness area and breathtaking scenery." (source)

A Town's Park
"Minocqua Winter Park is a town park ... operated by the Lakeland Ski Touring Foundation...(and the) Minocqua Winter Park Trail Fund ... (which) maintains the grooming equipment and the trail system." (source)
Minocqua Winter Park is the ideal place for residents and guests to enjoy the fresh, crisp air of winter surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. The 40 acre property boasts a beautiful chalet building where chilly skiers can warm up by the wood stove, grab a bite to eat at the cafe and browse ski apparel in the Ski Shop.

After warming up, guests can enjoy snow tubing down the 400 foot Squirrel Hill with a 70 foot drop, followed by a leisurely trip back to the top via the tube hill lift. Or they can experience the sheer joy that ice skating brings on the Chip Wulff Memorial Pond located near the chalet.
